Data illustrated in plots and histograms in "Petrology of Apollo 17 Double Drive Tube 73001/2 and Implications for South Massif Geology"

Author

Steven Simon

Description

Data collected in a study of the lunar regolith in Apollo 17 double drive tube 73001/2, which sampled a landslide deposit at the base of South Massif. Identification of mineral, rock, and glass fragments in polished grain mounts of >250 µm size fractions. Abundances of types of particles and mineral compositions are reported. Data were collected with a scanning electron microscope equipped for backscattered electron imaging and quantitative energy dispersive analysis, and by electron microprobe. All data were collected at the University of New Mexico.
