Description
Accelerator mass spectrometry analysis of 10Be concentrations in splits of stones of interest, OREX-800055-11, OREX-803228-0, and of aggregate sample OREX-800117-103. The samples were dissolved in HF/HNO3 and a small aliquot of the dissolved sample was taken for chemical analysis by ICP-OES. The 10Be concentrations in the samples range from 6.5 to 9.0 dpm/kg, compared to a concentration of ~8 dpm/kg in the aggregate sample. The results constrain the cosmic-ray exposure age of the sample to at least a few Myr near the sufrace of asteroid Bennu.
