Description

This bundle contains data from the EA-IRMS analysis of sample OREX-800107-181 (a split of the homogenized Bennu aggregate sample OREX-800107-111). The samples were analyzed across three sequences. Therefore, the dataset is comprised of three collections. Collection 1 contains the nano-EA results of the un-acidified homogenized aggregate sample as described in Method Description 1. Collections 2 and 3 are the nano-EA results of homogenized Bennu aggregate sample that was acidified as described in Method Description 2. Collection 1 includes 1 dummy standard, 8 tin boat blanks, 20 standards, 10 powdered silica blanks, and 10 OREX-800107-181 samples. Each analysis produced 2 raw sample analysis files (.csv, containing time and intensity data for gas chromatogram), one for nitrogen and one for carbon. An additional .csv file contains the exported data for the sequence, including all samples, standards, and blanks. For a total of 99 files. Collection 2 includes 1 dummy standard, 6 tin boat blanks, 6 acid treated silver blanks, 19 standards, and 6 OREX-800127-0 samples. Each analysis produced 2 raw sample analysis files (.csv, containing time and intensity data for gas chromatogram), one for nitrogen and one for carbon. An additional .csv file contains the exported data for the sequence, including all samples, standards, and blanks. For a total of 77 files. Collection 3 includes 1 dummy standard, 6 tin boat blanks, 6 acid treated silver blanks, 18 standards, and 6 OREX-800127-0 samples. Each analysis produced 2 raw sample analysis files (.csv, containing time and intensity data for gas chromatogram), one for nitrogen and one for carbon. An additional .csv file contains the exported data for the sequence, including all samples, standards, and blanks. For a total of 75 files. The bundle also includes information on sample preparation and analytical methods. The purpose of this dataset was to measure the carbon and nitrogen isotope values and calculate the amount of carbon and nitrogen in (1) the homogenized Bennu aggregate sample (i.e., combined organic and inorganic carbon) and (2) homogenized Bennu aggregate sample that had been acidified to remove the inorganic carbon.
