Description
The dataset includes numbers of atoms of 132Xe and isotope ratios of the other xenon isotopes to 132Xe for each of a series of laser step heating analyses of sample OREX-803063-0. OREX-803063-0 is a single particle separated from aggregate sample OREX-803021-0. Xenon was released from the sample and admitted into the RELAX (Refrigerator Enhanced Laser Analyser for Xenon) time-of-flight, resonance ionization mass spectrometer at the University of Manchester for xenon isotopic analysis. 109 distinct, sequentially increasing temperature steps were analysed and calibrated with reference to air aliquots and blanks. Temperature was increased by increasing the power delivered to the sample by a fiber laser. The purpose of this dataset is to investigate the I-Xe system, and therefore the sample was artificially neutron irradiated prior to analysis (irradiation MN2025a). Aliquots of Shallowater enstatite were irradiated and analysed alongside the sample, to monitor the conversion of 127I to 128Xe; those data are also incorporated in this dataset. In spite of the small mass of OREX-803063-0 (~2.5 ug recovered after irradiation), multiple heating steps were conducted to try to identify any variations in isotopic signature with temperature. A few heating steps have high 129Xe/132Xe ratios, but it is difficult to discern any other variations. The bulk 129Xe/132Xe ratio is ~1.07, high relative to Q-Xe.
